Sveza received an international certificate confirming that the company's plywood can be used in the production of passenger transport. The permit was issued by Rosstandart after testing for fire safety and verifying the existence of an ISO 8000 quality management system. For the Russian company, this expands the possibility of entering into direct contracts with bus and trolleybus manufacturers, both within the EU and with transport exporters to European countries.

Sveza was the first Russian plywood producer to receive ECE R118.03 type approval for compliance with transport safety standards. This international document confirms that Sveza plywood has passed fire safety tests and can be used in passenger vehicles, for example, in flooring or side panels. Products receive a special marking, which indicates in what direction the plywood sheet can be installed in the bus, and a special ID number of the certificate.

Sveza has now started shipping plywood to a Belarusian manufacturer of urban electric transport, which won the tender to supply the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina with 25 articulated trolleybuses with increased autonomy. Thanks to the passed certification, the trolleybuses equipped with Sveza plywood can be shipped to the customer in Sarajevo.

And the Russian company can now offer its plywood products to bus and trolleybus manufacturers not only in Russia and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (which includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia), but also in Europe. So far, only Finnish and Latvian plywood manufacturers had this opportunity.

“Our company is moving away from mass product manufacturing and aims to develop production for specific customer needs, so we are expanding our network of direct contracts with customers around the world. The transport area has enormous potential, bus manufacturers have a need for various special products with additional properties, and we are ready to offer them such products,” said Alena Sergeeva, head of Sveza's Land Transport industry team.
