New CNC machine has been launched at Sveza mill in St. Petersburg
Sveza has put a new CNC machine with programmed numerical control at its mill in St. Petersburg. It is capable of producing almost any kind of mechanical processing of “white” or laminated plywood. In particular, it performs filing, cutting, drilling, chamfering and much more. This allows you to make plywood parts of any configuration. It is noteworthy that the machine can perform some operations simultaneously. This significantly increases its performance. Investments related to the purchase and commissioning of new equipment amounted to 26 million rubles.
A distinctive feature of the new CNC machine is its ability to perform operations with plywood of large and non-standard formats. The machine can process sheets up to 4000x1900 mm in size, up to 100 mm in thickness and up to 200 kg in weight. Such products have a high added value. They are especially in demand among manufacturers of trailers and vans.

The CNC machine is equipped with numerical control with a built-in personal computer. It is integrated into the local network of the plant with the assignment of an IP address. At the same time, its operation can be controlled remotely using a portable touch console.
Director of the St. Petersburg Mill, Denis Alekseev, stressed the importance of launching new equipment for Sveza's customers: “We are moving away from mass production of standard plywood parts. Our focus is on making customized solutions for our customers. At the moment, we are recording an increase in demand for the production of custom designs. Thus, we thought about strengthening the CNC section with a second production line.”
Earlier, in early 2019, Sveza was one of the first companies in Russia to launch a CNC machine at the St. Petersburg mill.
